This is a final reminder that tomorrow, Monday, July 16th, we will be replacing our normal monthly meeting with a tour of the remodeled and expanded Bell's Brewery in Comstock/Galesburg (http://goo.gl/maps/59n4). We are hoping to start the tour promptly at 7pm. Parking is limited so please try to carpool if possible. Some members are planning to meet at Old Dog Tavern between 6:15 and 6:30pm to consolidate vehicles.
We have several big announcements going into this month's meeting:
July Meeting at Bell's Brewery in Comstock
If you're not already aware, we will be having a special event for this month's meeting. Instead of meeting at Old Dog Tavern in downtown Kalamazoo, we will be getting a private tour of the Bell's Brewery. This is NOT the downtown facility next to the Eccentric Cafe but the large and newly remodeled and expanded production facility in Comstock/Galesberg.
This is a friendly reminder that we will be holding our monthly meeting tomorrow, Monday, June 18th at 7pm at Old Dog Tavern. There will be a presentation on Wheat and Rye beers along with some club provided samples.
This is a reminder that we will be having an informal club picnic this Saturday, June 6th at Prairie View County Park in Vicksburg. We have rented Shelter #4 and will set up around noon. Members and their friends, family and co-workers are all welcome! This is a BYOB and BYO Food event so make sure to bring plenty of homebrew and snacks to share.
We will be hosting an informal picnic event this coming June 9th at Prairie View County Park in Vicksburg. The park offers many features including swimming, fishing, volleyball, softball and more:
This is a friendly reminder that we will be holding our monthly meeting this coming Monday, May 21st at Old Dog Tavern in downtown Kalamazoo. This month's meeting will be a discussion with two homebrewers that recently took the plunge into professional brewing. We will be hearing their stories and tips for others who are looking to take their brewing to the next level.
We will also have a number of other announcements include details on this year's KLOB Roast event.
Once again we are happy to announce our partnership with Bell's General Store in order to host another AHA Big Brew event!
For those not already familiar, Big Brew coresponds with National Homebrew Day (Saturday, May 5th) and is sponsored by the American Homebrewers Association. The idea is to celebrate all things homebrew by trying to gather as many brewers together to simultaneously brew as many gallons of beer as possible. We hope to have all-grain, extract and everything in between going that day.
This is a friendly reminder that we will be having our monthly meeting this coming Monday, April, 16th at 7pm at Old Dog Tavern in downtown Kalamazoo. The topic this month is the beer style of Porter. Geoff Groff will discuss the many different variations on this style as well as its history. The presentation will include tips on creating your own recipes and interpretations at home.
