Big Brew '09 is this Saturday!

This year's National Homebrew Day (Saturday, May 2nd) is fast approaching and we are very excited. This is a final reminder that we will be holding our Big Brew event at Bell's General Store, located in downtown Kalamazoo. All members and their family, friends and co-workers are welcome and encouraged to attend. We currently have 5 members stepping up to brew that day but we could always use more. Don't be bashful if you only do extract or are still learning; this is an opportunity to both teach and learn while celebrating the joys of homebrewing. If you'd like to be a part of the "brew crew", please let Chris E know.

Brewers can arrive at 11am to start getting set up so we can have most rigs going by noon. We expect some of our all-grain brewers will be going well into the late afternoon (around 6pm), so "spectators" can stop by anytime between then. The General Store will be open at 10am if you need any last minute supplies as well. The Eccentric Cafe will be serving food, beer and other beverages throughout the day. If you'd like to bring additonal snacks, that will be fine. We recommend bringing your own chairs and such to stay comfortable. Weather forecast for Saturday (as of Tuesday evening) is for 60 and cloudy but it wouldn't hurt to bring canopies for shade or the chance of rain.
