Michigan House Bill 4061 and June Picnic

Michigan House Bill 4061

First, I want to pass along a huge "thanks" from Chris Frey (FORD) for the strong response to the initial survey that was sent out last month. He said they received numerous entries from our club played a big part in getting this legislation closer to reality.

If you didn't already receive an email from AHA, the bill to legalize sharing homebrew at breweries and brew pubs will be heard by the House Regulatory Reform Committee TOMORROW. It's important that each and every one of us contact the members of that committee and let them know we support this bill. You can see a full list of all the committee members at the following link:

Pass this information to all your friends, family and co-workers that also support homebrewing. Given the timeframe, we ask everyone to take action ASAP. Let's try and get this bill passed!

June Picnic

A friendly reminder that we will be having a club picnic this coming Saturday, June 11th at Markin Glen Park in Kalamazoo.

The club has reserved the J. Tyler Family Shelter for the day starting at noon and going until dusk. When you enter the park, just ask for the "KLOB Picnic". The site offers grilling, fishing, beaches and more. Plus, we'll have access to running water, electricity and toilets. There is a $5 fee per car which makes it that much smarter to carpool and have a DESIGNATED DRIVER. If you would like to take advantage of their overnight camping, there is a $25 fee and you must reserve your campsite in advance.

The best part? The park is alcohol-friendly so we can all BRING OUR HOMEBREW TO SHARE. Kegs, bottles, growlers...whatever, just bring enough to pass around. Of course, we would also suggest bringing a few snacks and possibly even some fixin's for the grill.

We hope you can all make it and look forward to seeing you!
