Re-Introducing Homebrew Bill HB 5613
Friend of the club, Chris Frey, is helping spearhead an initiative to get a law passed in Michigan that will allow homebrew clubs like ours to legitimately meeting at craft breweries and brew pubs, including BRINGING IN OUR OWN HOMEBREW. As many of you know, this is an important issue to not just our club, but clubs all around the state. I have a posted a full description of the bill and actions we can take to help get it passed on our discussion board. The main priority is a survey that will help get gauge the number of people in support of this bill. We need everyone to fill this out before TOMORROW, MAY 20TH:

Read through his announcement and please take the rest of the steps he outlines to help turn this bill into law!
June Picnic
With spring upon us and the weather becoming nicer by the day, we at KLOB think it's fine time we take an opportunity to take advantage of the great natural resources we have here in the Southwest Michigan area. In that spirit, we're happy to announce that we will be hosting a club picnic on Saturday, June 11th at Markin Glen Park in Kalamazoo.

The club has reserved the J. Tyler Family Shelter for the day starting at 9am and going until dusk. When you enter the park, just ask for the "KLOB Picnic". The site offers grilling, fishing, beaches and more. Plus, we'll have access to running water, electricity and toilets. There is a $5 fee per car which makes it that much smarter to carpool and have a DESIGNATED DRIVER. If you would like to take advantage of their overnight camping, there is a $25 fee and you must reserve your campsite in advance.
The best part? The park is alcohol-friendly so we can all BRING OUR HOMEBREW TO SHARE. Kegs, bottles, growlers...whatever, just bring enough to pass around. Of course, we would also suggest bringing a few snacks and possibly even some fixin's for the grill.
We hope you can all make it and look forward to seeing you!
