Greeting Klobbers,
Just a quick reminder, we will not have a meeting this month. Stay home, stay safe & brew some beer. Hopefully we will see each other in May!
In the meantime, you can brew this beer for Spring. If we are unable to meet in May, we'll plan this for June meeting.
Spring Lawn Mower Beer Competition:
It's almost Spring and time to tune up the lawnmower! Don't forget to grab a beer while you do! To celebrate Spring, KLOB is having a Lawn Mower Beer Competition! We have a recipe for a light, easy drinking ale to enjoy outside in your lawn. Any Klobber is welcome to participate! Entries are due at our May meeting.
Rules: You must follow the recipe. You get to make ONE change to the recipe, i.e. different hop, different yeast, addition of an ingredient, change mash temp, etc... But just ONE change!
For 5 Gal. batch:
8lbs Light LME 1oz Willamette- 60min 1pack Safale US-05 All Grain: replace LME with 10lbs 2-Row, Mash @ 150 for 60 min. Ferment at 68F, then 36-48 hours @72F for diaceytl rest. Optional ingredients: yeast nutrients, water additives (doesn't count as the one change) Use what you learned from our last presentation about water! Your beer is due at the May meeting. We will judge them as a group and have prizes for the winners!
