July Meeting - Session Beer Competition
Our July Meeting will be a Session Beer Competition! Brew your favorite crushable summer session beer and bring it to our July meeting. We'll taste them as a group and vote for a winner! This is a just for fun, informal competition, no BJCP guidelines or format. It can be any type of beer, only rule is your beer has to be under 5% abv. Bring 4 bottles (or equivalent volume in growler etc..) for sampling. Prizes for the winners!
Barrel Project - Beer due at the August Meeting.
We've picked up several 15 gal. whiskey barrels from Journeyman Distillery. We need several brewers to help fill them! We will be putting a Belgian Dark Strong into the barrel and let them age in Boatyard's temperature controlled aging room. We need about 9-12 people to brew this batch of beer to fill up these barrels. If you would like to be involved, e-mail Alex at mantakounis@yahoo.com. Each person need to bring a 5 gallon batch to the August Meeting of KLOB to fill up the barrels. Once it is done aging, bring back a corney keg and get your barrel aged beer! We have both an all-grain and extract version of the recipe available here: Belgian Dark Strong Recipe
