July Meeting

Greetings Klobbers,

Our monthly meeting is coming up soon! Monday, July 18th at 7pm. For a change of scenery, we're having our meeting at Brite Eyes Brewery this time. Brian Pierce, owner of Brite Eyes, will be giving a presentation on "Going Pro" and sharing his experiences about going from homebrewer to opening a brewery. There will also be tours of the facility. We will be back at Boatyard for the August meeting.

KLOB Kayak Adventure - Sunday, July 24th 1pm. For those of you with access to kayaks or canoes, we're going on a float down the Kalamazoo River to Arcadia Brewery! We will put in from Merrill Park on River Street. Map: Merrill Park. We will be departing at 1pm from Merrill Park, so please arrive around noon to carpool and place cars at Arcadia. It is about a 3.5 mile trip and we'll have beers at Arcadia after. This is a weather dependent event, so watch the forecast!

Great Taste of the Midwest Tickets. Great Taste tickets are in! If you paid for tickets, you can pick them up from Alex at Tempo Vino Winery, 260 E. Michigan ave. downtown, or grab them at the July meeting.

KLOB Roast - August 20th, 12pm-8pm. Our annual beerfest/cookout is coming soon! KLOB supplies the food, you bring your best homebrew. Cost is $25/person. This price covers entry into the park, a commemorative Roast pint glass, and all the food you can eat! This year's caterer is Big Moe's The Roast will be at Coldbrook Park in the picnic shelter. Camping is available at Coldbrook if you wish to stay the night. This event is open to family and friends of members too! You can invite your wife, mistress, cousin, boyfriend, uncle, probation officer, car mechanic, etc... Just as long as they're cool and they like real beer. Speaking of beer, this a good opportunity to show off your brew skillz! Bring your "A" game to the Roast. We'll have our jockey box set up, so you can hook up your corney kegs. You may bring bottles as well. Please bring any yard games you want to play. We've had volleyball, bocce, kube in the past. Disc golf and fishing are also available at Coldbrook Park. This is a rain or shine event - prep accordingly. We do have the picnic shelter rented for the entire day.
