November Meeting Follow-Up
Thanks to everyone who braved the weather to join us this past Monday to discuss and sample Scottish and Irish beers. A special thanks to Brad Wyant who put together the presentation and selection of beers. To help keep improving the club and our meetings, please take a moment to fill out our survey and give us your feedback.

KBW Boatyard KLOB-oration
We are excited to announce a project that has been over a year in the making: we will be teaming up with our good friends at Boatyard Brewing Company to create a collaborative beer, tentatively to be released during the 2015 Kalamazoo Beer Week. To start, we want to get everyone's opinion on the style for this beer. Given the timeline and BBC's equipment, we have a limited set of styles but plenty to choose from. Please take a moment to complete our survey, selecting up to three styles you think would best represent KLOB and our devotion to craft beer.

We will take the top 3 styles and develop one recipe for each with Boatyard. We will then have a follow-up survey for the final decision.
Kalamazoo Kup
Entries can now be submitted for this year's members-only competition. You can submit 1 entry to any of the 23 major BJCP beer categories with a maximum to 3 total entries. You will need to submit two 12 ounce bottles for each entry. You can drop off your entries to Tempo Vino until December 3rd. There will be a cap of 80 entries for the entire competition so you'll want to submit yours as soon as possible.
When you submit your entries, we please ask that you complete both an entry/recipe as well as bottle ID forms and attach them with a rubber band.

Entry bottles should be free of all labels and caps should be free of marks or blacked out. Any entries with these defects will be disqualified.
2015 Officers and Volunteers
In accordance with our bylaws, we held our officer nominations at the November meeting. Normally, this is a formality as we have had the same core officers for many years. However, due to future changes for his family, president Chris Elston announced that he would not be able to seek reelection for next year. The following nominations were made:
- President: Alex Mantakounis
- Vice President: Andrew Vanderklok
- Treasurer: Geoff Groff
- Secretary: Julie McElroy
If you are interested in helping the club thrive and grow but don't want to be an officer, we are also seeking volunteers for a number of positions and duties. If you have talent and time to spare, please contact us.
December Meeting
For those of us that have been a part of the club for a number of years, we always look forward to the annual holiday meeting. This is held during our normal monthly meeting in December, which this year will fall on the 15th. However, we forego a formal presentation in favor of a social gathering and celebration of the previous year.
Traditionally, we try to have a theme for our holiday meeting. This year our focus is European Essentials. We're going to try to collect an array of amazing beers from the historic source of brewing. There will be an emphasis on brands and styles that every serious craft beer fan should try at least once in their lives with a few surprises thrown in.
To complete our festive atmosphere, we encourage attendees to bring in dishes and snacks to share. We also want to welcome friends and family that share our passion for amazing beer. All together, we hope to have a fantastic time as we bring another successful year to a close.
