October Meeting Follow-Up and Other Announcements

October Meeting Follow-Up

Thanks to everyone who attended our meeting on Monday, especially David Curtis who gave a fantastic presentation on cask aged beers.  If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out to him.

If you were there on Monday, we'd like to ask you to spend just a few minutes of your time and fill out our survey.  This helps us keep making our meetings and the club in general better.

Learn to Homebrew Day

As we mentioned in our previous emails and at the meeting, we will be hosting a Learn to Homebrew Day event at Boatyard Brewing Company on Saturday, November 1st starting at noon.  We are seeking volunteers to help organize and actually brew that day on location.  For those interested in brewing, we are actually looking for a variety of different styles and techniques which means we need folks who do extract, brew-in-a-bag, partial mash and all-grain.

Equally important....we need students!  This is a great opportunity to introduce your friends, family and co-workers to the world of homebrewing.  If someone you know would be interested, please pass along our information.

Bell's Homebrew Competition

Just a reminder, entries for the competition are due Saturday, October 25th.  You need to drop off four 12 oz. bottles at Bell's General Store.  Winners will be announced at All Stouts Day at the Eccentric Cafe on November 2nd.

Kalamazoo Kup 2014

We are officially underway for this year's members-only competition.  Please check out all the details on our website, including some rules and tips to keep in mind as your preparing your entry.  Get brewing and good luck!

November Art Hop

Member David Jones is working with the owners at Bark's Fifth Avenue in the Oakwood Plaza to have KLOB and our homebrew showcased at their November 7th Art Hop location.  If you interested in helping serve beer or donate several bottles to the cause, please get in touch with us.
