If you ordered a T-shirt but either didn't pick it up or there was a mix-up with your color and size, please contact us. If you are interested in purchasing a shirt or pint glass, we will be selling them at upcoming events and meetings.
Kalamazoo Oktoberfest at Arcadia Creek Festival Site
As we mentioned in previous emails and at August's meeting, we are happy to announce that we will be a key part of this year's Oktoberfest celebration hosted by the Vine Neighborhood Association. You can read more about the event at their website and Facebook page:

We will be part of their festivities on Saturday, October 4th starting at noon. This includes having a location where we will be serving beers made by our members and also holding brewing demonstrations. We are still looking for volunteers to help with both of those tasks. If you are interested in helping pour or brew that day, please contact us.
For those of you who volunteered to brew one of the 12 beers we will be serving, please send us an email. We need to coordinate beer delivery and gather details about the beers you brewed so we can properly advertise all the tasty creations. If you do not have the means to keg your beer, we can also help you get your beer packaged and carbonated for the event.
October Meeting Presenter
We are looking for someone to help with next month's presentation. Currently, we have two different topics planned to chose from: Cask Ales --OR-- Yeast Culturing. If you have experience with either of these topics or are interested in researching more about them, please get in touch with us.
Learn to Homebrew Day
Make sure to mark your calendars on November 1st for Learn to Homebrew Day. That is the day designated by the American Homebrewers Association to hold public events to share the joy of homebrewing with friends, family, co-workers and people in the community. Years past we have held this event at the Bell's General Store but they will be undergoing remodeling of their kitchen during that time which will take up the courtyard areas we have used to hold demonstrations. We are in preliminary talks to hold the event at Boatyard Brewing Company.
Stay tuned for more updates in future emails and at the October meeting. If are you interested in helping organize or be part of the brewing demos that day, let us know!
November Art Hop
Member David Jones is working with the owners at Bark's Fifth Avenue in the Oakwood Plaza to have KLOB and our homebrew showcased at their November 7th Art Hop location. If you interested in helping serve beer or donate several bottles to the cause, please get in touch with us.
Bell's Homebrew Competition
It was fun to see all the vendors and homebrewers from the region at the Bell's Homebrew Expo, especially all of our fellow KLOB members. Just a reminder, entries for the competition are due Saturday, October 25th. You need to drop off four 12 oz. bottles at Bell's General Store. Winners will be announced at All Stouts Day at the Eccentric Cafe on November 2nd.
