April Meeting

This is a friendly meeting that we will be holding our normal monthly meeting this coming Monday, April 21st.  The formal announcements and presentation will begin promptly at 7pm.  This month's topic is Malt Varieties led by member Bryan Simpson.

The meeting will be held at our new home at Boatyard Brewing Company.  Their taproom is still in development so seating will be limited.  Feel free to bring your own chair if you need it.  We encourage carpooling if possible to ease the parking burden but if you do drive, we want to make you all aware that parking on Walbridge is permitted as well as along the wall on Porter (please stay off the street).

Sampling and sharing homebrew is welcome but we please ask that you do it in 3 oz. samples to keep us within the letter of the law.  If you have membership or other club business to attend to, we recommend arriving before 7pm or meeting with one of the officers after the formal presentation.  And please help us tidy up and be on our merry way by 9pm.

Big Brew 2014

We are working with our good friends at Bell's General Store to organize another National Homebrew Day event at their location on Saturday, May 3rd.  Anyone and everyone is invited to join.  That includes family, friends and co-workers who might want to see first-hand how the beer brewing process works.  If you are interested in brewing that day, please let us know.  There are three very interesting official recipes this year but you are welcome to brew whatever you want.  We always like to have a variety of recipes and techniques features so don't be shy if you do extract or partial mash.  All-grain rigs will kick off at 10am with others following throughout the day.

National Homeberw Conference

We have set up a special newsletter strictly for NHC business.  If are attending the event but you have not already signed up, please to do so ASAP.  If you would like to volunteer beer for us to share at the event, you can sign up for that as well.
