Marching Meeting
Thanks everyone for coming out to last night's meeting! We have posted Jeff's handout on our website if you ever want to refer back to it. And don't forget the 10% discount when placing orders on the Hop Head Farms web store. If you don't have our promo code but are a member in good standing, contact us and we'll send it to you.
If you attended, please give us your thoughts and opinions so we can keep making KLOB better.
National Homebrew Conference
If you are attending the NHC in June, we strongly recommend you make your hotel arrangements as soon as possible. We also suggest you subscribe to special club newsletter list so we can keep open communication while we plan and organize leading up the event.
As we mentioned at this month's meeting, we are still looking for people to volunteer beer for us to take to the event. We will have two opportunities to pour beer at the conference and we need a total of 24 batches to meet that need. To encourage participation and also help members pocketbook, we are offering a $10 reimbursement for each 5 gallon batch donated. To receive your reimbursement, we ask that you bring a reciept to an upcoming meeting. If you haven't already registered the batches you plan to offer, please use the form on our website. If we have more than 24 batches offered, we will make a cut-off so that we can bring the best quality and diversity of hand-crafted beer made in not only southwest Michigan but the whole country.
FastRack Challenge
Congratulations to Ryan Koziatek who posted the fastest time for racking a case of bottles at 16.5 seconds. We have submitted the video of his performance and wait to hear back if he made the top 15 to earn a free pass to the NHC and represent KLOB at the national competition.
New Holland Brewing Co. AHA Rally
The American Homebrewers Association is planning a special event close to Kalamazoo:
http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/events/new-holland-brewing-co/
This is a great opportunity to get both a behind-the-scenes look at NHBC and also meet fellow homebrewers from all over the state. AHA rallies are free to current AHA members but you do need to RSVP as the event can potentially fill up.
