Bell's 4th Annual Homebrew Competition Winners

We want to give a big congratulations member David Lyman on winning the 4th annual Bell's homebrew competition with his Citra and Simcoe pale ale. We also want to commend members Beau Preston & Bret Wagner, Drew Doster, Aaron Hoffmann and Jay VanBuskirk for placing in the top 12. A great showing for the club!

Kalamazoo Kup

This month's meeting (November 18th) will be the first opportunity to submit your entries for the inaugural Kalamazoo Kup. After that, you drop off your entries at Tempo Vino Winery until December 2nd. We will conduct the judging shortly after and announce the winners at the December meeting. We are accepting beers in all 23 major BJCP categories and will also select a Best in Show. Read all the details on our website. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Learn to Homebrew Recap and IPA Experiment Follow-Up

We had a fantastic showing two weekends ago at Bell's for our brewing demonstration. There were seven batches brewed all with different techniques. Check out the photos on our Facebook page:

Part of that day was also our kick-off for our IPA experiment. We had several members brew different IPA recipes all derived from a single base recipe. The goal is to be able to pick up variations in ingredients and process to target the flavors that make a strong beer.
