Bell's Homebrew Expo and Competition
This competition offers the winner a chance to brew their recipe at the Bell's downtown Kalamazoo brewery. The winning entry will then go on tap at the Eccentric Cafe. Bell's even provides the wort! Anyone who wears Bell's apparel (hats, t-shirts, etc.) will receive a $1 off their pint until 9 p.m. Sign-up times for wort pickup will begin at 11 a.m. Wort will be distributed starting at 1 p.m. Homebrewers should bring a sanitized vessel with them to transport their wort home. Make sure to get there early, as supplies will be limited. Wort is distributed first come, first serve and signing up early will help guarantee wort.
Confirmed vendors at this year's Expo include: Brewer's Supply Group (BSG Handcraft), Blichmann Engineering, Brew Haulers, Coldbreak Brewing, Third Coast Products, Stir Starters, the American Homebrewers Association (AHA), Kalamazoo Libation Organization of Brewers (KLOB) and Fetzer Farms.

Roast 2013
We're less than two weeks away from this year's KLOB Roast! Tickets and pre-ordered T-shirts are still available at Tempo Vino Winery. We ask that we finalize ticket sales by this weekend so we can get an accurate head count for our caterer. There will be no tickets sold the day of the event. Check our website for all the details:

Cider
Fall brings the opportunity to try your hand at a libation other than beer: CIDER! Husted Farm offers a discount when you buy 5 gal or more. They also carry pear juice for a short period of time. I've also gotten cider from Ver Hage and both have made great ciders.
Member Jay VanBuskirk spoke to Husted Farm and they will be pressing pear juice in the next couple of weeks. We suggest if anyone is interested that they call and let Husted Farm know, that way they will contact you the day they press the pears as well as make sure they press enough for demand.
