November Meeting

This is a friendly reminder that we will be holding our monthly meeting this coming Monday, November 19th. Hilary Stearns will give a presentation on India Pale Ales. He'll touch on the history and techniques for brewing this popular style. The meeting will begin at 7pm at Old Dog Tavern in downtown Kalamazoo.

Learn to Homebrew Day 2012 a Success!

We'd like to thank everyone that came out in spite of the cold weather to see our five separate homebrew demos that we held at Bell's General Store. There are photos from the event on our Facebook page:

If you have some of your own photos to share, please send them our way. Another big thanks to Geoff, Chad, Dan, Brian, Jeff and Mark for brewing that day. Hopefully, they'll share the fruits of their labors at an upcoming meeting. And last but not least, thanks to David Curtis and the team at Bell's for helping host the event.

Officer Elections for 2013

A good club needs good leaders and now is your chance to be a part of that group. As we always do each year, we need to hold an election to either keep or replace our current set of officers. The following positions are on the ballot:

• President
• Vice-President
• Secretary
• Treasurer

We will be holding nominations at the November meeting with elections at the December meeting. If you want to get involved with the club and play a role in how we shape our events and activities for 2013, put your name in the running. We need YOU to help continue making KLOB a successful and fun club!

Membership for 2013

The November meeting will be your first opportunity to sign up or renew your membership for the 2013 year. Dues will remain at $15 and will cover you for the entire year. If you want to receive your membership card before January 1st, make sure to attend the November meeting and register. Cards will be available at the December Meeting.

December Meeting

As we wrap up 2012, we have one last order of business and that's our annual December meeting celebration! In order to provide the best experience, we will one again having a change of venue to the Park Trades Center on Kalamazoo Ave. They are offering us one of their largest galleries which will be perfect as we will be expecting a large crowd. Look for more details in an upcoming announcement.

But what about the beer?! We know everyone's tired of politics but we thought we could have one last election: American East Coast vs. West Coast Craft Beer. We will hand-select some of the best beers from each region and have them compete head-to-head for which has the tastiest, most innovative beer. Stone or Dogfish Head? Brooklyn or Rogue? You decide!
