January Meeting
This is a friendly reminder that we will be meeting this Monday, January 16th at 7pm. We will be departing from our normal, formal technical or style presentations to instead celebrate the fact that we can now BRING HOMEBREW TO OLD DOG TAVERN! The evening's topic will instead be a loose "Homebrew Workshop" where we will discuss easy ways to improve your beers, common flaws and other tricks and tips. We encourage you to bring in your own examples beers you have brewed (good, bad or ugly) so we can have a varied and in-depth conversation on ways to take those beers to the next level.

Intra-Club Competition: Dunkelweizen
At the October 2011 meeting we discussed a competition called the Quest for the Golden Growler Homebrew Club Challenge sponsored by the Bull Falls Homebrew Club in Wausau, WI. The chosen style is dunkelweizen, which is a darker colored wheat beer. Read more about the competition and the style here:

In order to submit a representative from our club, we will be conducting an intra-club competition at the January meeting. We will set up a tasting allowing all the members to sample the available candidates and there will be a final vote at the end of the meeting. If you are bringing in a beer to enter in the competition, please contact Chris Elston (chris@klob.org) so we can get an estimate on total entries. We recommend bringing in four to six 12 oz. bottles so there is enough for all the members to get a 1-2 oz. sample. We look forward to trying lots of different attempts at this niche style.
Officers for 2012
If you were not at the December 2011 meeting, you missed an election for officers for this year. In short, all 5 officers will be returning to serve in the same positions as 2011.
