Meeting Manager's Page

Preface: In November 2003 we had an unfortunate lapse in our usual responsibility toward keeping Dick Milne's place (our meeting place) clean after meetings. Dick made it clear in no uncertain terms (no uncertain terms at all) that it will not happen again. Ironically, we were on that very same topic of club members taking turns being the "Meeting Manager" when he popped in.

What would be required is that you make sure the following happen:
1. Bring drinking water for everyone (one or two gallons usually does the trick)
2. Bring some bread such as French bread or Sourdough for palate cleansing and for filling empty stomachs (if you can get someone else to bring some, that is fine as long as it is there).
3. Be in charge of cleanup (again, you don't have to do it all; you just have to make sure it gets done).

Clean up will include:
-Bringing home all of the trash that we create at a meeting (usually less than one garbage bag-full but you will need to bring the bag)
-Vacuuming the clubhouse
-Putting the place back into a better condition than we found it
-Cleaning the bathroom (this usually means wiping the seat but this too needs to be in better condition than we found it so bringing an all purpose cleaner such as Fantastic would be a plus)
-Picking up any crap that may have been left outside. (This has become an imperative!)

OK, here would be the checklist for what you would need to throw into your car Sunday night:
-2 gallons of drinking water
-Small bucket or container for dumping and rinsing
-Two trash bags
-1 or 2 loaves of French bread (or other firm breads). Plan on feeding the bellies of 30 people.
-Cutting board and knife
-Roll of paper towels (this is important)
-All purpose cleaner such as Fantastic

Everyone is expected to clean up their own mess so this shouldn't be anything too challenging but we all need to take our turn. Sign up at a meeting or on the DBoard to help out. You will need to be the last one to leave so plan on being able to stay until the meeting is over (usually 9:15-9:30pm). Thanks to all who help us keep our wonderful meeting place.
