Mead Day

First organized in 2002 by the American Homebrewers Association (AHA), Mead Day is a national event to increase mead awareness and foster camaraderie among meadmakers.

On the first Saturday in August (August 7, 2010), homebrewers in the USA and around the world are encouraged to invite friends and family to celebrate Mead Day by making mead.

Each year the AHA supplies a Mead Day Recipe for Mead Day. Meadmakers invite family and friends, hang posters and flyers around town to advertise their Mead Day site. Then on the first Saturday in August (August 7, 2010), everyone congregates at the brewing site to make mead. It’s a blast!
